Where were you when you heard about 9/11?

I was only 6 years old, all I remember is my mum telling me that a plane had crashed into a big building in America on my way home from school. Although I could tell you the exact spot I was when she told me, I was too young to comprehend it at the time, but now I can it saddens me deeply.

In a salon, cutting someone's hair. I was only doing a half day and did not realise the enormity of what a client told me at work until I came home and switched on the telly.

I was dismissing my class at the end of school and a parent told me and it was bizarre - had to go on a training course and try to find out about my husbands sister and her family as they had recently moved out there

Was at home and my sister called to say a plane had hit the Twin towers. Turned on the telly and not long after that as they were showing live pictures the second plane hit. Was very strange watching it happen live.

working at the nursery, parents were coming in telling us what had happened, i finished work at 5 but had to go back at 6 for a staff meeting, went down the wine bar and watched the news on the big screen, cudnt believe what had happened!!!!

Picking my eldest son up from nursery and a parent asked if I'd heard the news. I came straight home and turned on the TV and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I still can't get my head around such an atrocity now.

Sitting at work. It was very quiet time so I had the radio on. I was listening to Steve Wright int he afternoon. He had the TV on. he told us what he was seeing. To be honest I thought it was going to turn into a joke, it was a while before I realisted it was true and the enourmotity hit me. ? remember it as if is was last year, I can't believe it was 10 years ago. where does the time go.

Was up at my Nan and Grandas house to go on a shopping trip, we were 3 hours late as we were glued to the Tv. I remember feeling really scared

I was at school (working). The office staff told me about it and we put the tv on...Two minutes after that the second plan hit as we were watching it live.

I remember driving to work the next day and there seemed to be an eery atmosphere all around.

My memories are vivid.
