Just when I thought it was safe to put the Incubator away!!
Well after months and months of Hermanns hatching, I actually managed to put my incubator away at the beginning of October,it hadn't had any eggs in for a couple of weeks and I wasn't expecting any more.
I had already seperated the boys from the girls earlier on in the year and all expected females had since laid. Well on Sunday I decided I would start winddown so I brought in all my torts and started the usual of daily baths and the usual, well blow me down if i wasn't confronted with one of my large ladies b**king away with another female this afternoon......so out came the incubator again and just over an hour later I have 3 gorgeous eggs in my incubator again. Guess I will hold off on winddown for a few more weeks now just until she has added some weight back on!! |

At least you got to turn it off for a few weeks Dawn I've had at least one incubator running for 3 straight years.
Good luck with the eggs Danny

Happy hatching with the eggs! Can I ask when your incubator is on constantly how often, or is there no need, to change the vermiculite?
