Anyway back on topic. I've had another look at the picture and still think there is Ibera in there but the spotted bits are wrong. Maybe a bit of leopard? Is that even possible?

I don't think that's possible.
The Libyan Testudo does have a spotted pattern similar to the tortoise pictured.

What gets my interest is that this tortoise is no a usual form of whatever it is and can very well be a mix of something. A parentage history would be nice.

I have very little knowledge of other species and the ins and outs of breeds etc. I am just having "not very educated" guesses, going on appearance. Interesting subject though. I was going to say, something I will get into when I know everything about my Iberas, but I don't think it's possible to know absolutely everything, there is always more to learn.
