It's good to see his levels are coming down! Even if they're still above the ideal.
How does he react to the injection? I'd be lovely if he didn't kick up a fuss.

Kirsty, I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. How long has he had it for, is he coping well? I've always heard it said that it's better to get these thign early.. because you adapt quicker, but it seems such a shame..

Sorry to hear about your cousin

George does not mind the injections at all. Vet said to give it in his side and GEorge just follows me to the kitchen, lays down and lets me do it. I am very lucky with him like that

Well George tested negative for FIV, FIP and FELV but tested positive for Cushings Disease but there was a note under the result saying it may be a false positive as he has the diabetes. I am praying that it is as the prognosis is not good.
Vet rang me last night. He is sending all Georges info to a specialist to see about doing some scans.
George seems too well to have Cushings
Here is a link.

Well George seems well but he is still insulin resistant. Has got to be sent away to a veterinary hospital as they are doing trials with insulin resistant cats. Not even sure which hospital he will be yet or how he will get there. Got to take him to the vets tomorrow morning as the hospital want blood samples from him when he has had no food or insulin. So will be sending it in with him and they will give it to him and monitor him after they have taken the blood they need.
I don't like doing all this and don't want to send him away but if we don't get him sorted he will die

Sorry to hear this. I hope you feel better soon. xxxx Big hugs to you
Georges dosage is now 18 twice a day
Vet just phoned and said all Georges tests will be done free of charge as it is a trial which is a bit of good news Think my vet was a bit worried about the cost as he said that even though we had insurance, he thought all the testing would eat through how much we can claim in no time.

Just phoned my vet but it's his day off. The envelope has arrived from the veterinary hospital but Robbie (my vet) has not opened it. He will ring me tomorrow. Am quite gutted because the vet nurse told me that he's leaving. I have not been down there with George for a couple of weeks so did not know. She said that Robbie is going to ask the other vet if he will take George on. Other vet is also nice but I really trust Robbie and he adores George.
Now they think that George may have Feline Acromalgy and to be honest it is starting to look this way as he has suddenly got really big. He has put on 1.9kg in 6 months

Georges tests are back. 90% sure that it's the brain tumour. He has got to go to the hospital in Hertfordshire for 3 days for tests and brain scans. This would normally cost more than £2,000 but vet said that as it's a trial they will do it free. Only treatment (if possible) is a course of radiotherapy to shrink the tumour. Vet said that my pet insurance should cover this but if it doesn't we will just find the money.
Waiting for a call to arrange when George has got to go in and got to collect his notes tonight or tomorrow to take with us.
