Natural habitat for Kinosternon Baurii

This year I took a few photos of where Three Striped live in Florida. I know they are in this pond because last year I found one beautiful female 20 metres away from that spot. There is a large river (Braden River) close by, and there live Cooters and Alligators, from the ones I was watching for sure.
And this quite creek looks like a perfect heaven for more turtles colony. I did no went any closer simply because I dont have any gear to venture away from the path. Not fancy to go barefooted in tank top and short sorts lol.

The opening on the top right you see a creek covered with duckweed and water lettuce

How the forest floor looks like where they walk and dig

The sandy soil that they dig nests in, all Florida has such sand under thin top cover.

The slope into the small creek where they go out at night to lay eggs, dark clean quiet water. Very deceiving. I did not went to splash there, gators watching you!

Not sure about them but I would love to live there... except for how hot it gets!!
