Ha ha, too true, I rush home from work to check all torts that they are ok, it's quite stressful, even though my sister goes and checks on them lunchtime and gives them some treats, I still worry when I'm not there lol x

I'm glad I'm not the only one who worries constantly (and about everything!)

Hi Just got worried about my 'Trot' as he seemed hyper- active and not eating much. So I bathed him in warm water with 1 drop of melissa oil (lemon balm) - aromatherapy essential oil - just to balance and relax him. Was surprised when a few mins into the bathing an intestinal worm popped out about 3 cm long! May try this again some time as lemon balm is a vermifuge ( worm expellent )- however if anyone tries it only dilute in plenty of water - just 1 drop! I am an aromatherapist so I do know, although only tried lavender or tea tree previously before with the vet's permission as an immune system stimulant etc.
By the way he is eating better now - calmed down too but may be the cooler weather effect!! Amph

Hi. Sounds quite fascinating. You may wish to consider having a worm count done to find out the true extent of the worm burden. If the lemon balm brings worms out they must be in the hind gut which sounds like Oxyurids (pin worms) which need to be removed as they can cause an impaction. Please feel free to have a look at our website or search on previous posts for info about our Wormcount Dotcom website as you will find more info on torty worms.
