My girls - chicken pictures!
Heres pictures of my girls. The white chuck is a White Star called Daisy - we've had her for about 9 weeks and she's amazing, she's a really bossy little thing and is a little clumsy, she's always tripping over things! She lays a perfect little white egg every day, I still get excited every time I go to see if shes laid! The ginger chicken is a Goldline named ....Ginger!, we've had her for just 2 weeks, we bought her to replace our Bluebell who was called Lavender who unfortunately died 3 weeks ago. Shes just getting used to us now and will let me pick her up instead of chasing her for hours around the garden! She hasn't started laying yet but fingers crossed she will soon! [/quote] |

Hi midi mania, Ginger is still only about 19 weeks old, meaning shes classed as a 'point of lay', they start producing eggs around 18-23 weeks so hopefully, once she's fully settled in she'll start laying for me They lay the most eggs during the first year of their lives after that the rate of eggs laid does decline - we have bought them as family pets though so we see the eggs as a bonus!
Thank you Lyn, until I started keeping chickens I never thought Id say they were cute but they really are! |
