yoda and his hot side.
hi, yoda my redfoot seems to be constantly in the hot side under a fern hide i have for him. should i raise the temps of the cool side or just leave him to it? he walks around a little untill dinner. i put his dinner on the cool side and he'll go eat it then straight back to the hot side to burrow down for sleep.
my temps are 30- 33 hot side with fern hide. 23-25 cool side (thats with added heater. without it its 19 or below) with plant pot hide. any ideas? thanks

I would leave it like this you have a very good set up. I would not worry about this behaviour.

My star does the same thing. My temps are 31-33 warm side and 22-25 cool side. Even if I put her on the cool side after bathing her, she heads straight to warm end. Suppose I would do the same though

I tend to agree, my horsfield spends hours and hours in his warm end, and sleeps in the cooler end at night. But does tend to nap in the warmth and bask in the heat lamps. So long as he's eating, passing waste, has clear eyes and nose, all should be well. My horsfield always digs, i have him on prorep tortlife and frequently buries himself in the warm end......all part of the fun. J

Wouldn't worry, especially if he can dig down. They only thing you could do to satisfy curiosity would be to swap the hides around or put a fern hide also at the cool end.

He might just! you could also try a fiddlesticks hide. Bend into low arch they can snuggle under the corners and climb over the top. Plus they are breathable and will also let a little light through. You can get netural stick ones as well as the flourescent coloured ones!
