Thanks, I got her ashes back yesterday, it actually helped a lot!
I spent 2 hours yesterday just hugging the box they are in, and now I am happy knowing she will always be there, but never sad or in pain!

They say (research) you should pick a tree or plant area or something in the garden or near to you that makes you smile, and isn't associated with the loved one/pet/loss, but associate it with them now and every time you see it let it remind you of them and it does ease the pain of losing, as the mind associates the nice 'object' with nicer thoughts than the loss. I do hope you are ok, CB

Thanks, I am getting used to her not being about, I will always miss her!

We went away this weekend and it was rather nice not to have to worry about here while we we're away (I always have a sitter for her, usually one of my sisters so I knew she would be well cared for but I always was a worrier)

I am lucky really that she passed away before we had really settled in so it doesn't seem that odd her not being in the house (I think I would have gone mad in the flat as it would have been wrong without her there)

And I have never once thought I could have done anything different as I really believe there wasn't, it was her time and she went on her terms!

After my last doggie, little fluff ball jack russell passed away and had been my bestest friend day and night, and travelled with me everywhere he could for over 11 years had the same cancer and treatment my dad had...I said never ever again would I put myself through that...7 days later and little puppy from the farm up the road needed a home so I bought him for £10.00 odd. He is mad as a fish (JR and border cross) don't ever regret it and 4 months after that a Labrador puppy and now 14 years later similar position....and I can see just round the corner but life is too short and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It is true what they same time does heal. Hope you are getting there slowly. CB

Thanks everyone, we are in the process of rehoming a new addition, a 2 year old Rottweiler cross named Rocco.

But I still miss my Buzz, I cannot imagine Christmas without her (as excited as I am for Christmas) and miss curling up on cold nights!
Had a horrid sinus infection and she was not there to look after me

Mostly I am ok, I just have the odd moments. I know I will always miss her, like my grandfather who even after over 10 years I stop and wish he was there! But he like her are always in my heart!

She can never be replaced (but now I can take in the dogs I couldn't as she hated other dogs - and did not care to share my affection!)
Once we bring him home I will share pictures of our Rocco...

But here he is for now: https://www.scottishspca.org/rehome/...?animal=316568

Good grief Rocco is quite a difference there ! I have never warmed to rotties but apparently they are very lovable loyal dogs. I lived with a Doberman on a farm once who would have given ragnar a run for his money but was a real sweetie unless people approached him when I was sat with him. Or sheep. So lovely you can give another doggie a loving home and what a Christmas you will have - make sure the tree is nailed down ! x

Yes, I have always loved big dogs.
We just fell in love with Rocco, he is a big puppy, full of love and very eager to please!
He will be a handful! We hope to get him a friend in the new year!

We may well need to bubble wrap the tree as he is very careless with his tail (has been bursting it open in the kennels!)
He has been stressed and unwell in the kennels so hopefully soon he will be felling well enough they can let him home (we have been waiting over a month!)
