Just a little update on this festive Christmas Eve. woodward is doing ok. He still has sloppy splats, but the completely rotted shell underneath is much better, eyes seems ok, ut after trying everything I am resolved to thinking he will always have runny poops.

I took a photo of him drinking for about ten minutes after a bath, reinforcing why it is so important to have clean water. I rarely see him drink even though he may sit in his water bowl.

Thanks for the update, Clare.
You're doing a good job with him and at least you've seen improvements, even if he's always going to have a funny digestive system.
When I got Tamara she was full of worms. She needed treatment for 3 months and then had sterile gut. The loose sloppy poops continued for about a year. They looked an awful lot like spinach. She had reptoboost and abidec baths regularly and eventually things improved. I had her tested for bacteria and so on, but nothing ever showed up.
Hopefully Woodward will keep gradually improving. Elinor is looking beautiful too by the way. x

Lovely Clare!

Have you tried pre/probiotics? I have opened capsules & sprinkled on food. Particularly good after worming/antibiotics.

That's it - wet spinach. It's not pleasant. Hopefully he'll get better in time and be able to explore the great outdoors. He's a precious little chap. I love seeing his photo and hearing how he's doing.

Remember when I made lime biscuits for the tortoises the other year

Thought I would treat Elenor and Woodward......I Mary Berry'd the lime into little biscuits and they were so happy eating away....

I came back after 20 minutes odd....... never ever again !

hundreds and thousands...well that's what they will get from now on (concept not the actual hundreds and thousands). took me forever to clean them up and the Tortoise Table.
