I agree its important to be gentle wih people who are 'getting it wrong'. I was also given wrong direction (by the same person as Caroline).
Keepers who were patient and took time to explain without condemnation helped me to understand about UV, healthy diet and lots of other things. This forum is a fantastic resource for people who are just starting out, but there is an understandable confusion sometimes to begin with when the advice is not the same as that given out elsewhere. |

I haven't been here long and I hope you don't mind me saying, but I have noticed that no stupid questions are ridiculed and that people aren't made to feel stupid or 'told off' if they are doing things wrong. Advice is gently given as is suggestions that what they are doing may not be right.
Another noticable thing about this forum is that the welfare of the tortoise is paramount and that people are friendly and open. It's not 'clicky' or 'you can't join us' or 'we'll make you feel uncomfortable because you don't know much' that can be unfortunately, common with forums of any kind. It's a super forum and you all deserve huge pats on the back! |

earlier back in the post it mentioned about dog proofing i think you could get a rabbit cage or guinea pig cage there quite big and suitable also i made my tort table for £15.00 and my husbands no good at diy and it took a couple of hours to make they cut the wood to size for us the sides etc 42 x about 20 is a good size for £15.00 ( it too had a viv in the shed for some time) storage boxes are good they are £4.50 in somerfield at the moment and they are fair size i was reading a very interesting page the other day about oxalic acid in food and about what it does its very interesting reading , thats the stuff i think that absorbs the calcium its in the greens that was mentioned eariler in the post it is honestly worth doing a search on it rachel |
