Hibernate or not??
Have a 18month old Horsefield that ive only had for a month should i hibernate him this year, he is kept on a table with a thermostatically controlled heat lamp.

I wouldn't this year, wait till next year and in the meantime you can get to know your tortosie and read up on all the info you can find, from as many different sources as possible so you can make an informed decision next year

can I ask what you mean by a 'thermostically controled heat lamp', if you're talking about the basking area then you should only need to raise/lower the bulb, if your'e using a combined then they shouldn't be used with a thermostat. Either way you shouldn't need a thermostat, and the rest of the table should just be room temp.

I DON't hibernate. And with the lad having this eye problem I definately won't. I give them a quiet time though.

Does hibination effect beading as I don't want to hibernate Louis but I do want to bead soon day?
