Their basking spot is a constant 33 degrees c and the cool area is no lower than 22 degrees c. Its checked daily. Will be making a new 4ftx4ft in the next few weeks just incase their current one is to small

I would just use 100 % topsoil for your Horsfields substrate, they always seem to get irritated eyes when you use sand

Hi Fi, if you want to hibernate them + your trying to get them to eat at the moment then I wouldnt change their table at the moment.

Just my personal view, as torts dont like change & if anything like mine will stomp around in a mood climbing the walls & sulking, all that happens to the food is it gets well trodden on! I had this very same senario a few years ago with Roxy who has a strong hibernation instinct & had done so before but I had to abandon the idea due to lack of weight.

Id introduce them to the new table when they wake up if indeed you do go ahead & hibernate.

I will be doing their 1st hibernation in november for 3 weeks doing the standard box and garage method ( not got the room in the fridge and not enough tortoise funds to buy them their own ). The new table will be made ready for hibernation wake up time. With a bit of luck, by the time they wake up, i will have a ready supply of weeds and flowers for them to have a good ole munchie

Hi Fi I have 3 horsfields all unsexed as yet, have tried but have given up. you seem to me to be doing everything you can or rather I would do all your doing. H
However if you get realy worried you can always get a product called REPTO BOOST it gives them a boost and helps them, you soak them in it, further instructions on tub.
I used it when 1 of mine wasn't happy with herself and it helped her.
Don't worry yourself unduly though as they are very sensetive to the slightest of temp changes and we seem to be changing into Autumn mode.
Suggest you keep a close eye on them becareful with Cucumber it's a natural DIURETIC. If you want to treat/temp them (& yourself) get some STRAWBERRIES)
Mmine hate NUTROBOL so i always hide it with the smell of some pellets.
