Sadly some people believe they are right and only they are right, they don't want to hear what others may think.

Hi and no, I wasn't aware there was a problem with PM's recently-sorry if I've missed the point here-I do know there was a 23+page thread that I started reading and was so awful that I didnt have time or desire to read through it-is that something to do with it?
Can you explain the purpose of the Private Message facility (sorry, this is going off topic) as otherwise why does it exist? I would never ask a stranger for their email address? More to the point I wouldnt give my address to someone on here unless I had known them for ages. Is there a thread which explains the use of PM? x

Well asked!
I'd have thought a PM was er...private, and no-one elses's business except the correspondents.

It's up to yourself of course but I think you may be missing out on getting a wide range of advice as well as helping others by giving advice.

BTW, there's an ignore facility on the forum under - User CP - Settings & Options - Ignore list

I don't think so but maybe there should be and a warning about how nasty they can be at times, the contents of which can end up on Facebook and such places and makes people's lives hell

Which is why I don't use the function. If it cannot be said on the open forum it is either not worth saying or the person is trying to hide something which is nothing more than idle gossip.

I think the forum is here for all to benefit in order to make an informed decision.
