Another confirmed info @egyptiandan64- there are no wild living tortoises in Malta.

As I keep looking at them

They are North African

So either Tunisian or Libyan. Can you not get pictures of the parents.

Introduced into ppl's gardens for sure, but not living on their own around the island.
As for the parents I dont have the pics yet. The guy keeps them in his garden (a large one) and since the weather is not as warm as torts like to have, they are hiding. As soon as he comes across them I will have pics and post them.

My torts have rather bright skin and on their heads bright/greenish spots. Tunisians, from pics I have seen, have more contrast like dark brown head with almost white spots. Therefore Lybians are my type

Now another thing starts bothering me. Was it a good choice to adopt 4 of them??? After I did I ran across so many posts about bully torts and necessity to separate them that I am a bit worried about my small family. They are 5 months old at the moment. When possibly should occur first symptoms? Any chance that they will remain pacifists?

I keep my fingers crossed for that. Or that I have majority of females.

The head looks like my tunisians but the shell looks nothing like them wonder if they could be a cross

Cross of a tunisian and what? Lybian? They are 5 months old and still so tiny- 5 cm long.

No idea really we need to wait till the parents reappear to be sure as soon as you can get some pics we can work it out

The problem is that this guy keeps them in his garden. At the moment full of green and he simply cannot see them
