Indoor enclosure am I doing anything wrong

Here is the torts enclosure

temp under lamp is off the scale so 40+ by door to hide are 20 degs.

They are spending a lot of time like this (normally the lid is on



coming out occasionally - not been out today.

I'm thinking of the following

swapping the heat lamp to other end so it is nearer door to hide

and / or taking lid off the hide

and / or adding a normal bulb to add more light.

Can you advise me please as currently they are very subdued torts.
