I got there just 10mph, only 6 miles away, drove into the car park and got stuck, we got an all terrain truck out pulled me out, turned round and went home. An hour and a half waste of time. It's just dropped another six inches here on top.

I can't get to work, my car is stuck at the bottom of a hill and the buses are cancelled. My manager is trying to make me feel guilty and insinuating that I'm not trying hard enough...but what can I do? My car wont go up the hill, I can't walk to work because it's too far and there's about a foot of snow outside. It's just a total lack of understanding, it's not as if I'm being paid either.

I cancelled work today, and then felt a little guilty when I took the dogs for a walk and realised the next road down really wasn't bad at all and that loads of cars were on the roads.

for anyone wondering if it's worth getting snow tyres on their car, I would have to say yes it is. what a difference they make. got them on my wife's car last time and you jus do not get stuck (other road users permitting). go them on again this time (different car) and same again. can't get out now though as it's over 30 inches but if you can get your car out then they are brilliant. 2 on the drive wheels like

I've ordered some of those 'snow socks', read loads of reviews online and they're supposed to be really good. Everywhere is out of stock at the moment though.
