Definitely a female.
If ever you have a problem with the prolapse, soak in sugar water. This stops any swelling and sometimes helps it go back into place.
Then see a tortoise vet:0)

Thank you everyone! I'll keep an eye on it. It's obviously the only time I've seen this and everything popped away when I put her back down. Feel rather daft now! Is it something unusual or to be concerned about? Is there a common cause?
Thanks Gordon! I'm currently 5 months pregnant and my hair and nails have gone bananas!

Sandy - Sugar water ...do you add sugar to the water? not being rude just not heard of that and I know you are full of knowledge.... CB

Yes you just melt sugar in water, and it can reduce swelling especially in males, who are normally the ones who have prolapes.
I have tried this when one of my males was over amorous in the first weeks of getting up from hibernation. I soaked him in the sugar water and it worked:0)
I think you could also use glucose diluted in water too.

Thank you Sandy, what do you think is the proportions to the water? ie teaspoon to 100ml , that sort of equivalent. I must admit I am a little generous when it comes to critical care to water. thank-you, CB

To be honest I just poured the sugar in, didnt weigh it:0)
I would say something like a cup full to bathing deep water:0)
