The is a truly gorgeous adder. I will mention that the larger one in the photo was probably the lady and the smaller one the male. Girls tend to get a bit bigger.

I'm not greatly amused at the slow worms in the garden so I really wouldn't be best pleased with a grass snake or adder!
My eldest son would be in raptures however! He loves snakes and spends far too much time in the meadow where he volunteers at a birds of prey centre, looking for (and finding) grass snakes and the occasional adder. Your photos are very impressive though, both of them.
