Still in Hibernation
How many keeper's tort's are still in Hibernation, i was wondering. Mine have done the 12 week's ok, minimum weight loss, trying for one more week, as they are in the garage, boxed and in top soil substrate. What i have noticed is where they are dug down about 8 inches, the temp is holding 5.4c. This is a plastic box filled with soil 18 inches deep, inside an insulated plastic box with a lid with air holes.

Mine have been in the fridge since the beginning of December, hoping for another few weeks with the weather still not being the best.

Yeah it would be nice if it picked up a bit in the next week or so, just a little higher night time temps and air chill.

undergrounds temps are creeping up a little...well, 12" down they are, and by a little I mean only 1 or 2 degrees but it's a good sign I think...

Same as you Paul, 12 weeks at the moment. I don't want them up just yet, still way to cold for them, they seem to be doing Ok min weight loss, checked them yesterday, if I can keep them going until the end on the month that would be great.

I still have another Ibera boxed up but will leave him a bit longer, don't see the point in getting him up just yet. |

I checked on my 3 Ibera over the weekend and they are all still dug down deep and fast asleep, and like most people I'm hoping they'll stay that way for another week or so
