Im just wondering is it worth using a herp nursery for hibernating or is it better to use the fridge? Thanks |

if you can afford to buy a nursery and want to use it for incubating (I think it does that as well) then its a good buy but I don't know of many that have actually brought one. A fridge is a lot cheaper and can be used for drink

I have a Herp nursery II and I use mine just for incubation...........but it is very stable and I am sure it would be very stable as a hibernation unit too............with the clear front you can also check on tort too I suppose, but you would need to have a flap over it to keep the light out.
Suppose if you only have a couple of torts it would be fine.......but no good for me as I have far more..lol Dawn |

I was thinking of getting one of these for next year when I hibernate my tortoise. Reason being I don't have space for a fridge (cannot find a small larder fridge that doesn't have an icebox) and this seams a reasonable price and size.

it does seem quite reasonable! I can't have another fridge either and the one I use for myself is not reliable. will definitely think about it for next year!

Sounds like a good deal you got there!
Please get back to us on how your hibernation goes using this, as I for one would be interested in buying one next year if it is a success
