new tortoise owner
hi i have a 2 year old hermann tortoise and all he seems to do is sleep allday i was just wondering if i have his viv to hot he has a ceramic heat lamp with a thermostat which is set to 88 i leave it on all day and night but im not sure if its ment to stay on at night

No, the temperature should be allowed to drop to normal levels at night (as long as they are above approximately 15C) before heating up again in the day. If you do this, he should become much more lively

I'd set the CHE to 34c.
What are you using to provide UV?

That's a little high for a constant temperature. Try dropping it to around 80F. You can leave the heat on all night if you are using a thermostat. The tortoise does not need an evening temperature drop but there will be a natural drop at night based on the drop of the ambient temperature.
