I'm presuming Chris is the post above. Yeah I can wait until July. Can you P.M me some more info... Age, price, when in July, whether you recommend 1 or 2. I think hermanns as I don't know anything about the others at this moment in time. Maybe I can send you

You're not doing yourself a favor by omitting tortoises from outside of the UK. If you are careful and acclimate the animal you should not have a problem with an animal not bred in the UK. In fact... most of the tortoises that come from farms are usually very well started and already have some good development.

I have gotten many tortoises from farms without a problem and I know many others who have done the same.

Keep in mind that you are going to find a variance of opinion on most topics of keeping chelonians.

I'd suggest reading up more on these farms. There are some good threads on this forum on the topic. I think I've even posted some photos of one such farm.

If it was me I would wait untill July and buy Chris's Hermanns. Thats just my opinion and what I personnaly would do

I'd wait too as I also had a hissy scared import with RNS! I say had because the tortoise is tame and healthy now! All my UKCB have been tame and handleable from the start!
