you will be fine, just think you dont need to hand feed cause the sooner he starts eating on his own, the less you have to worry

One of mine only ate once every 5 days or so for the first 7 weeks after getting them so don't panic over 1 day. It's probably not hungry or possibly not warm enough? they also usually need to reach a certain temperature - about 32-34 degrees before it really stimulates eating and activity

try giving him a nice warm bath before putting food in front of him - one of mine gets a good appetite after bath time

as long as he's gaining weight, a few grams a month, then he's fine, he'll be eating enough but don't weigh him to often else you get paranoid, once a month is good enough.

My wee one is the same, she will only eat after her bath at night so worth a try!

Hi there
Go here http://www.cebc.cnrs.fr/Fidentite/bo...ublication.htm Look under 2003 publications for LAGARDE F., BONNET X., CORBIN J., HENEN B., NAGY K., MARDONOV B., NAULLEAU G. Foraging behaviour and diet of an ectothermic herbivore: Testudo horsfieldi. Ecography. 2003, 26, 236-242 Download and read the .PDF file And relax In summary, you have a species of tortoises that in the wild is active for a maximum of around 60 days a year of which only 20 hours are spent feeding.
