Odd looking shell
Hi all,
Please could you have a glance at my photos? My tortoise was recently treated for shell rot by the vet (injections/betadine scrubs). I still scrub him every few days. Please could you tell me if it healing normally? Was shell rot in the first place? If he is healing normally, how long do you think it will take? Thank you for your help, Inca |

What bit are we looking at please? Do you have clearer pics? Maybe if you took a pic from further away and then cut it down it may be more clear. Maybe it's me<g>

Hi Wizzas mum - its the patch on the left at the back of his shell - I can't seem to get it any clearer- the tort has lost three scutes but he seems to be growing back underneath?

Oh I see, sorry you meant the grey bits. They look quite healthy and will improve in coulour when the keratin grows back. It takes ages though, during which time the shell is vulnerable, so watch there are no knocks to thte area.
Take care |
