Water makes tortoise horny!

I've read in 'turtles of the world' that rain in the wild often begins the mating pattern in March/April. Apparently water is a stimulant for the males to mate, and after first hand experience watching my male Hermanni after a bath, i believe it to be true. How funny

Anybody know why this happens?

No, but you are definitely right! Believe me, it makes them horny when you have two males together too-I have to wait til it's cooler as with the heat as well...... again, only seems to be Hermanns in my experinece
