Default Advice on Thermostats Please

Hiya guys n girls.
Can you shed some light on the various different thermostats available please: D/N pulse-proportional / dimming / heat-stat D/N dimming digital thermostats / analogue thermostats....
I need the right thermostat for a 4x2 table. The thermostat will be used ONLY at night time to control a CHE.
My solar glo 125w is run from 06.15-18.45 on a timer. Heat is 32.5 in basking area and 19.8 in cooler end. But the temps drop to <14C during the night. I have a wee 25w CHE on during the night near where Leo sleeps, looking to purchase a 75w CHE and would appreciate some info/advice on the different types of thermostats and what specifics they do.
Sorry for long post.

for a CHE, a pulse prop.stat is probably best.
as the name suggests this stat sends the current in pulses, when the target temp is near the pulses slow down enabling the stat to maintain very precise temps.
you can't use a pulse stat with bulbs,(disco effect)
you could also use a dimmer with a CHE,this turns down the current when target temp is reached, again very precise.
a dimmer can be used with bulbs and CHE so is more versatile, check out prices for both and see which is best for you.

Thanks for the video link, muchos appreciated. From watching that one and the digital thermostat video. I think I will be best suited with the on/off analogue thermostat. As I'll only be using it at night. Have I got that right?

We have a Leopard and use a 150watt ceramic heater with a pulse proportional thermostat like,
http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/h...stat-600w.html
with a holder like,
http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/z...amp-lf-10.html
on a zoomed stand. We have our leopards temp with the heater set at 24c for his overnight temperature which will help prevent him not getting RNS (runny nose syndrome).
The beauty of the pulse proportional thermostat is it only comes on when required and removes any error on your part forgetting to switch it on. I hope this helps and if you need any further assistance please ask and enjoy your leopard they are well worth the extra effort/expense.

an on/off thermostat,as opposed to a dimmer or pulse, would probably be quite a bit cheaper also.

an on/off thermostat is all I use on my CHE, I use a dimming one on the basking lights though!
