We never did anything on Christmas eve when I was a child, everything was done Christmas day (all pile through to my parents room, cuddle up under the duvet, I am one of 5 so that was 7 in the one bed!! open the stockings, then off to church. If we were good we would then get to open ONE present. we would then have lunch - don't know how mummy did that all by herself! then open the presents!)
Its a bit different now the 5 siblings are now 9 (as we have paired up) and a bit more spread out, 3 in Edinburgh but one as far as France, and I have Hubby and his family and traditions too!! So now Christmas eve is a mini Christmas with whoever I am not spending Christmas day with (this year it is my sister and her husband, but some years its my in-laws) Christmas day I don't really have time to go to church anymore, my husbands family have an unusual Christmas tradition that cannot be missed! His Grandfathers birthday was Christmas so every Christmas morning the whole family go to his grave to lay flowers then it was back to his grans (now its a double grave and to his uncles) but it means they are never forgotten and still a big part of their Christmas! I still kinda miss my traditional family Christmas, I don't often go down to my parents for Christmas as mummy is usually working and my step brothers moan about waiting until after lunch to open presents so its just not the same! (I did go down this week to drop of their presents and see them though and I will call them both Christmas day and I will Skype my sister and nephew in France too!) Also I don't like to make my husband miss his Christmas morning as it means a lot to him! We wont wait until after supper for the presents as we will be round with family so we will open the stockings in bed (I refuse to give that part up!!) then go through to the presents (we used to do it after the trip out but everyone expected up to have opened them already so I lost that battle too!) Christmas has always been my favourite day of the year, there were no arguments it was a nice family day! And now we are making our own traditions its still great I just have so many more people to share it with!!

There is never a time to watch eastenders !! Not even if the darts is on.
It was for Emma Gordon ! x I was going to do Christmas flash mob 2015 instead but would have had people in tears I think.
