Question Bulb temp

Iv upped my bulb to 60w as hector and george are so inactive and not eating
I plan on hibernating them in january but i need to make sure their weight is ok first
It is a cold room so do you think 60 w is ok or too strong?

Reptiles see different to the way we do the inactivity could be down to the fact the your house is not as bright as it was in the summer so the light spectrum, and intensity has changed.

Try and get them in a really bright room, prefrably infront of a window.

There are lights you can add to increase this, halogen bulbs are good for basking and give a good light spectrum, plus daylilght tubes such as Repti-Sun 2.0 these do not give off any effective UVB but the light spectrum is good.

Drop me a pm if you want any specific info !

linda,
dazza sells a brilliant digital themometer which is a very good price and measures the temp in 2 different places, i would recommend buying something like this to check to make sure you are near the 30 mark during the day , my table is in my sons bedroom and i am running a 150w sun glo basking bulb to achieve a 30 temp i tried 100w and only got to 26 which made them very slow in the day (ps i also run a 3ft 10.0uvb tube for 12hours a day). hope this helps
