egyptiandan64, thanks dan...This is the 1st clutch of 9 Ibera eggs, they are all fertile, however one has not developed at the same pace as the others . 6 weeks after laying these, she laid her 2nd clutch of 10 eggs, I have not yet candled those ...
kaz9t9, thanks, just over 2 weeks to go yet ... tortoiseguy, cheers, 3/4's of the way there now ...T.T. 8)

Paul I'm having the same thing happen with 2 ibera eggs from her first clutch. They are at 50 days today, but 2 of them have slowed right down. Those 2 are just a bit further along then the ring stage (your 14 day picture) but not up to your 21 day picture. Not sure why they did this as the other 3 are developing just fine.
What stage is your slow egg at? Danny

piglet, cheers darren , although this year most of my females have laid their eggs, by using the candling method, there are a lot of infertile eggs though, probably more than 50% infertile. Which is fine, as long as they do not retain their eggs...
egyptiandan64, these eggs (in this thread) are 49 days today, my slow egg appears just over the 28 days pic. As for the under developed eggs, it could well be a case of premature death? It will be interesting to see what occurs with both your clutch and mine Dan? ...T.T. 8)

Well folks time to update ...
This next pic was at 61 days, if you look close enough (were I have added the red arrows) you can see what appears to be either a head or certainly limbs pressed up agaist the egg, theres not much room inside the egg now, they were/are very close to hatching at this stage... So the wait is over, at 64 days incubation the 1st baby of the year has hatched, I found him like this in the morning, I checked the eggs the night before, no pipping had occured, so he must of hatched throught the night. As you can see, he had turned around in the egg (this is common when hatching) I went to pick him up, and he just popped out the egg. He had absorbed all his egg/yolk sac, and was a good shape too. Some more photos then...please enjoy...T.T. 8)

Great news Paul He looks great. Excellent pictures as always. In the egg you candled you can just start to see the membrane pulling down. I usually can't see heads unless I pick up the egg and look from the end, as the head is usually down. Looking underneath you can usually see how much of the yolk sack is left also.

Excellent TT , I find that mine just hatch quickly also , often no signs of pipping teh evening before then next day a hatch has taken place.
Paul you mention no sign of egg sack , do you usually have this happen or do you have sack extened still. I have never had a hermans, Ibera or tgg hatch with yolk remains distended, but my reds often do D |
