To incubate for male torts (meds) you incubate at 28-30 degrees.
For a mixed hatch, 30-31.5 ish and for females 32-32.5 degrees. This is only a guide, and as most keepers who breed, know its not set in stone<g>. Anything above 33 can cause deformaties or death of an embryo.

It's definately not set in stone as temperatures are all percentages
For T.g.ibera and T.h.boettgeri the threshold temperature is 31.5C. At this temperature you get about a 50/50 mix of the sexes. If you go above this temperature you will get a higher percentage of females. If you go below this temperature you will get a higher percentage of males. Danny

dan and linda, you say if it's higher temp your more likely to get females and lower temp males. well say i had tortoise eggs amd it was 22c (room temp) because they where not in an incubator, would they hatch but just be male??
i hope that made sence lol x

I'm not sure but below a certian temp they simply will not hatch, you need a minimum temp, and they take longer to hatch at lower temps.
