Hi Dan, Stunning looking tortoises you have there.

Where do you manage to obtain such fantastic specimens from. They look so fine and healthy and so mature too. They must be costing you a fortune to buy, or are these tortoises less expensive in the USA than in Europe?

Thanks TT, Carl and Ade

It's not that bad Carl . I like it so much that it's no trouble

They are a little less expensive here in the US . I almost hate to tell you how much they were . The female isn't adult yet at a little over 4 inches, but both the males are at around 5 inches. Now for the money, I paid about 30 pounds a piece for them, $50 US each for them. That is though less then I've paid lately and the people were new to reptile dealing so I thought I needed to get them no matter what 8)

Well Done Dan for saving them, at least they are in a good home now, dread to think where they would have ended up with inexperienced dealers.

i hate feeding my 4 cos i have to seperate them so they dont bite each other when going for the same food, but when i seperate them i like to keep them all under the trex cos when i take them out of there enclosure they only eat half as much as when under the t rex so i seperate them using hydes and boxes.

That is really cheap a tort but i think in a way it is better they cost more over here to stop idiots buying them as christmas treats.

Dan they are sooooo gorgeous, you are so lucky. It seems that to get older tortoises are like gold dust over here, and when you do see them advertised they cost the earth, but as Carl says it may stop inexperienced idiots getting them. Do you work as well as fitting the torties in and do you have to go on weed hunts?

I started being late for work now, bathing my six torties, going round the garden gathering weeds, topping water bowls up and then putting the torties outside, then trying to get myself ready and get off to work!!!!! But they are worth it and I'm sure I'll get quicker at it!!!
