Last redfoot clutch
Well here's my last clutch of redfoots for 2006 , this clutch contained three eggs all hatched successfully as usual the first one of this clutch hatched 5 days ago today it was followed by the remaining eggs.
These eggs where laid on 11.03.06 incubation period of 111 days note the hatchling with the unabsorbed yolk this is typical of redfoots i find and it will absorb it in the 7-10 days . Darren |

Hi Linda/Sarah
Yes it is attached the baby will slowly absorb it into its stomach over a period of a week or so then it will be moved into a hatchling table . Some hatch with very little yolk this one has a large one and will take about 10 days to be fully absorbed . To Protect the yolk from drying damp kitchen towel is used to cover them . Darren |
