What ever happened to that great website she had?

Last bit of info was ..

Please bear with us as we will be closing sections of the website completely, during the update which is expected to take about two months. We hope to re-open most of the site by December 2010

I check there regularly in the hope that it's finished

My tortoise table is pretty big, the back end of it it pretty dim I think. Thanks for reply Alan I might invest in another light and next time.... I'll get the 160w instead of 100w! Do you think I should get a 2.0 tube for extra light and put it length ways down the box like Rach was suggesting on another thread?

Yes I keep checking the YK UVB Guide website too, still not open is it? Is Frances the nice lady who runs the website? She messaged me on the yahoo group in April saying shes hoping to get it up again soon... also about my 13w 5% exo terra light a pet shop recommended me. 12 inches away it was producing 6 UVB(dont know UVB units). Thats when I decided to get megaray. Might check up on results of my current light! I hope it produces enough UVB for my hermanns.

In my opinion its a great help to have a uvb meter when using any make of combined lamp. But of course its an extra expense. I would think that Watermelon's torts would not be getting levels of uvb anywhere near 200 uW/cm2 at 12" with the 100watt. Sounds good to me. Extra light without uvb would probably be good without being essential.

Thanks I've posted on the yahoo group asking for results of my light.

I dont think my tort table could be as light as it could be...if I brighten up the table with an extra light could this make my torts more active?

This is one of my indoor setups for Hermanns using a 160 watt megaray, a 150 watt halogen lamp and a four foot reptisun 2.0 tube with reflector mounted about two feet up. Thats how bright I want my tortoises

I would prefer it on the website, I don't really want to be joining any more groups. Any chance you could ask her if she will be continuing with the website?

Watermelon, maybe removing the lid would let more light into that end, it may also make it a bit cooler end there, does the lid not trap the heat in there? in winter though you might want to have heat trapped in there. things need adapted to suit seasonal conditions
