Default Can I fit another?

I have had a cherry headed red foot tortoise for a little over 4 years now. I got him from my birthday and was totally misinformed by the pet store. I luckily found this forum in time to rectify my mistakes.

I only have 1 right now, and he is roughly 8.5 inches long. He is living in a 2'5'' X 3'6'' table at the moment. This is the best I can do right now.

I went to the pet store today and saw, a small( I would say 3 inches) CB cherry headed red foot tortoise. He was marked down to just 99$ and he was living in pathetic conditions.

I would like to be able to rescue him from the pet store, but I am worried that he might not have enough room in the current table (short term) and that my current tortoise might act aggressively.

So my main question is, could this tortoise live in my current table for 3/6 months max, safely?

Thank you everybody.

You're not 'saving' the tortoise. You are purchasing the tortoise which perpetuates the market... there is nothing wrong with this.

You have to consider that you should have space to quarenteen the animal for a while. You have to consider that it is the same type if pairing your current pet is a goal. You have to consider whether the animal is the same sex as the one you have. It's not really good idea to just throw them together.
