Sorry to hear about the little tortoise not making it, its awful how a moments thoughtlessness can result in such horrendous outcomes, my thoughts are also with the owners.
Your job is one that I envy, you have the opportunity to try and put right what so badly went wrong in this case, and even though this tortoise didnt make it, many more have and will with your care and this tortoise was given an opportunity, which is all anyone could ask for under the circumstances.
