I have been given a turtle type thingy - HELP please! - Page 2

I have asked around the area it was found and no one's claiming it. Apparently its been wondering around in the wild for around 3 days now. It was found in the middle of the road a few days ago and a man put it in his pond but it escaped and was found in the middle of the road again yesterday, which is when i ended up with him/her.
It really doesn't seem to like the water!

I really dont think i can look after it long term,my tank is too small,Ive lost my job so no money.......
Ive contacted the tortoise protection group,do you think they will be able to help me?
