Opinions Please
Hello People.
I need your help people - i have seen something i would like to stock, but and not sure that people would pay the money. I don't have a picture as yet sorry ! Its a wooden dog kennel, very soildly built - but the great thing about this is it has a door that can be shut and locked from the outside and the door has integral ventalation. It also has an apex roof that looks high enough to add a basking lamp or ceramic heater. Ideal for tortoises, they can be safely locked away at night and if fitted with heating could provide a little extra heat in the morning during early spring ! Now for the downside, they will need to retail at £70 - £75 plus postage, which i think although the product looks well built and will certainly last the test of time is that just a bit much ? All comments good and bad encouraged ... Dazza |

From the description, I think that sounds like a fair price. Do you have any measurements?

Hi
I think the price is fine! I bought one of these for my torts, just for their enclosure http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product.a...373&pf_id=8204 and that was nearly £30, so I think £75 for a dog kennel is a fair price! |

I think £75 is a fair price for the item described but none the less is an expensive item. Personally I would be more likely to build something than pay £75 but that may be just me . I have no experience here so I really don't know but I would say sales may be similar to this other item you had on your website.
http://www.kimbosreptileworld.co.uk/...nued-p-65.html Once again a high cost product but still a fair price for what it is(before it was discontinued), like the kennel a cheaper alternative can be made at home. So overall I would have thought if the metal tortoise table sell well than there is no reason why the kennel wouldn't but CJ's £30 outdoor home may be a better way to go. Or why not even test both products

you may be better to come up with your own design and seek out the skills of a local handy man to make them up, not a firm but some keen DIY fan, there are loads of them kicking about wanting to fill in their time, lol, i could supply you with a list, but we live to far away

It sounds good, its just that a certain pet store we all know, sell wooden dog kennels for £50. I was looking at one at the weekend and thought it would be great for my little tortie for when he is outside.
Whatever you stock, people will always try to find it cheaper elsewhere though. Of course there will be postage on top of the price too i assume? I suppose before you decide to stock them, you have to see how many people will actually buy, and not just say they will. |
