Sexing a horsfield
When sexing a horsfield is there anything different about male and female plastron?
Charlie, my male horsfield, has a dip on either side of his plastron and I seem to remember reading somewhere that this is characteristic of the male, or have I just dreamt it!!!!??? Ruby my new horsfield has been identified as female, but she too has these dips, one either side of plastron and am wondering if she's perhaps a he? Thanks |

Pictures would help us know what you are saying about dips.
Adult male meds, plasteron is concave. But hard to tell on a young tortoise from shell.

Thank you! I'll try and take some pics later, but I'm not sure if the
dips I mean will show up on pictures, but I'll have a go! |
