Paignton zoo pics
We went to Paignton Zoo last Friday, and, as promised, here's a link to some pics. Sorry the quality so bad, i currently dont have a digital camera, only my phone camera. . Planning to get a decent camera soon!
http://s85.photobucket.com/albums/k4...aignton%20zoo/ We had a nice day, the weather was lovely, and we saw lots of different tortoises, ranging from hingebacks to giant tortoises. Some looked better than others; the torts in the tropical house, ie the hingebacks, didnt look very well, and were behind glass, which i think was stressing them, but it also meant i couldnt get any decent pics. The giant torts looked happy munching on their cabbages (thought torts werent meant to have these?). One of them had a large hole on his shell, which looked like it had been filled? Is this what happens with a damaged shell? The babies in the nursery looked happy, but there were several species being kept together. Are babies ok to be mixed like this? We didnt get to see the new baby rhino, Zuri, was mum was blocking any view, but here's a link to her progress; http://www.bbc.co.uk/devon/rhino/ There's some lovely pics there.

I must admit, i was very shocked to see pancakes, leopards and TGs in together. They looked healthy enough though, and happy. I was more concerned about the hingebacks being behind glass. They looked very sad.
