My Cat And My Tort
HI, wasnt sure where to post this one, my 13 yr old cat has taken to sleeping in with my new tort (ive had tort abt 6 weeks now), my tort will walk up2 her and stay right near her, can anyone tell me if this is wrong thing to encourage or what, my other tort is in the next tort table but shes isnt interested in getting in with that one.
Thanks Jo |

It does sound funny, but you never know if the cat would turn on the tort. If I where you I would keep the cat away it's the heat the cat likes not the tort. Hope this helps

my cat lola kept trying to get in with my egyptian tortoises. at first i thought it was because it was warm. however 1 morning i turned isis light on and when after a while he didnt appear from his bed i searched his table for him. he was gone. lola had picked him up. luckily i found him on the floor and he was ok. i have moved his table into the utility room now and the cats are not allowed in there.

I would never allow any other animal to come into contact with any tortoise.
Animals are unpredictable - one swipe of a paw or bite could end your torts life. |

I would go with Debs thought.
Some animals may be fine, but never let the cuteness get to ya! luckily my cats run off from them ...but one day i worry that they might run turn round and attack the torts...so i watch carefully. with the kitties. |
