perfect temp in viv
hi my new tortoise is trying to climb up the vent and he fell on his back is there a reason why he is doing this could it be he want air and want temp is best for him on the thermo

A viv needs to be well ventilated, or the temp can get too hi and the tortoise has no way of finding a cool end , as they would with an open table. Basking temp should be 31/32c and the cool end / back ground temp needs to be 20/21c . They must have this temp gradient to be able to regulate their body temp, so I would take the top off the viv, if it's on. And then see what happens, also if they can see through the glass they will for ever be trying to get through it, so screen the glass with a strip of wood.

maybe get him out into the nice spring air in spring time ! they will climb til they drop... let us know how you get on.... all natural but needs lot to do , they love to climb and hide, explore - make it interesting for him - make sure he cant see out either , CB
