Oh dear what a shame, but I agree, I don't think they look fertile 😟

Ah it is a shame, as I may never get this experience again, I won't be letting Spart at the girls again, and I didn't last year ( well as far I am aware he never got near them)
Do females lay eggs without mating with a male? If there is nothing happening in the next week or so, I may as well bin the eggs, I don't want to put myself through hope only to be disappointed again x

What a shame, Bev.
I believe that females do lay eggs without mating, so it might happen again but if you're 100% certain Spart hasn't been near them, you'd know they're unlikely to be fertile.

Hi Emma, he might have been with out me knowing at some point last year, but probably not, I was really hoping they were as I'm not planning on mating them, but never mind, there's hope for the golden Greeks in the future, but only if the little ones turn out female in about 6~7 years.....a bloody long time to wait x

It's always worth popping any eggs in the incubator, especially as females can retain sperm, just in case Spart has had some fun with your ladies.

Yes Emma, a very slim chance they are late developing eggs, but I think I'm just being hopeful really, if no development in a week or 2 then in the bin
I do wish I would have cleaned them off as it would be better to see inside if all clean, but if I get anymore eggs then I will clean them before incubation x

I had a look at mine that were laid on the same day and there is a visible embryo now, it sounds like there was hardly any chance that yours were going to be fertile though

I agree it's unlikely they're fertile eggs but I also agree that you should give them a bit more time just so you feel more certain they're not late developers before binning them. x
