Tomato feed?
Hi all,
I have been adding tomato feed to the soil around some of my plants (tomato, courgette, strawberries and carrot) and whilst I wouldn't feed these plants to my tortoise, the weeds I grow for him are planted inbetween. Would this make the weeds unsafe for eating? |

Hello,
I’d think any sort of fertiliser/chemical would make them unsafe if grown in that soil but I don’t know what’s in tomato feed. It wouldn’t be poisonous to humans as they’re meant for us to eat.

I don't think they would be unsafe. The weeds likely are sucking up the extra nutrients though, which isn't ideal. Just my thought on it! If you can, avoid it I suggest.
