I really think this is something a vet should take care of. There is a limited window of opportunity to set the leg properly and avoid any kind of infection.

Hi Ed, she is being treated by a vet, waiting to see him again on Sunday with the plan of action, of what were doing next!

Any idea on how it broke its leg?

No Ed, she was a bit lame on it late last year, but still using, and now after hibernation, it has been to cold for her to go out so she has been inside, and not using her front leg at all..she has been on a course of anti inflammatory medicine...x ray now shows the problem

I can imagine how that can be fixed with major surgery. The bone is probably healed over without attaching to the adjacent bone.

Poor girl, sorry to hear. See you are in Cardiff - don't know which vets you se, but Mark Evans at Valley Vets (think it's Merthyr Road) is an exotics expert and is superb with tortoises - if anyone can fix it, he can Hope all goes well.
