Bitten the bullet - started wind down!
I've done it, I've officially started to put Pickles into hibernation! No food for the little dude today. I've made a 3 week wind down plan, all going well he'll go into his fridge on 8th December so the 8 weeks I'm aiming for will be until the beginning of Feb.
I'm picking up second hand fridge at the weekend, enough time to get it up and running for a few weeks to make sure it can hold a nice stable temperature. I've ordered two different digital thermometers with alarms (just in case!) It's his (and my) first time so I am a bit nervous, but I've had loads of reassurance and advice from here and I know it's the right thing to do for him. Fingers crossed it all goes well!

I nearly gave in to his hungry little face today Popped him back in his table after his bath and he went straight to his feeding slate and stared at it for a bit. He then did a lap of his table, through his pond, over his plant pot hill, and back to stare at his empty slate for a bit - he did that three times, as if he thought it would make food appear! Then he gave up and went straight back into his hide. I've taken the feeding slate away now so he can't stare at it all expectantly and make me feel guilty lol

Stay strong, don't look him in the eye lol. My first time hibernaters are fighting it to the bitter end. One more week to go !

Hehe that's the key, he does have such cute eyes. The pic of him in my avatar is where he climbs to his highest point and stares up at me when he wants food. Such an irresistable face He's on a towel now and went pretty much straight to bed after his bath without looking for food. Think he's sulking lol
