Wild tortoises nesting
I have just returned from the Belek region of Turkey where tortoises live in the wild.Having seen around 20 or so of them in the grounds of the hotel during the hotel, one near to the pool.
On our last day after we had packed up and were waiting for our departure we had a last walk around to see if we could see any more,as we approached the golf course we spotted one in some scrub land. On closer inspection it was a large female who was nesting, both me and my wife could clearly see 2 eggs and she was just scraping the soil back. It was a surreal experience to she a tortoise laying eggs and filling in the nest site in the wild,it made the holiday. |

No I didn't have my camera,I went back to get the I Pad but when I got back she had done the business,I took a couple of photos on it of the area. Will try and see if I can upload them but I am not technically minded.
