Never mind other turtles in Florida not being a problem, sometimes Kinosternon baurii aren't a problem either. It all depends on when the eggs were laid. They have 2 laying season in Florida, spring and fall. The spring laid eggs have no problem developing with no cooling period. The fall laid eggs though need to be cooled and than warmed to develop. This ensures in the wild that the hatchling will be coming out in the spring, when there is plenty of food around. Danny
