no probs
all planted now, no watering for like a month and lets see if we have new growth gonna get a few more varieties now, humifusa, robusta, quimilo, etc. yeah Ozric, I think the main problem here is the damp also, as the weather seemed nice I put some of my opuntia rubescens outside for like 3 days and as it rained a lot the last 2 they immediatly looked to start rotten  . I now immediatly moved them inside again and changed their soil (hopefully on time to save them).

I'm thing about growing some but want to check if anybody had issues with the tortoises eating the thorns?

ive got mine from a site called easycactus but when i feed to my torts i always burn the spikes of just to be sure.. x

I got a spineless varietly so i wouldn't worry, they live in the table so didn't want the tortoises to get hurt!
They don't eat them though

i think succulents its an acquired taste maybe.
apart from sedum, for which all my tortoises go absolutely crazy about it as soon as offered to them, the others they seem to only eat if theres nothing else on offer. Aloe for instance, none of my tortoises are crazy about it, but if I only put aloe once and a while after searching for any other food, they eat it. lol in fact today it was their food. at night I'll put the weeds
