Decking
I was in B&Q last night and noticed they had decking on offer for a limited period only. It's the 2400 x 120 x 25mm stuff and it's £2.98 each.
I actually bought some at 1800 x 144 x 28mm at £2.40 each to use for my outdoor enclosure. It's all celcurised (green treatment) Last edited by Alan1; 10-03-2009 at 08:08 PM. |

A great enclosure angels, a great size.
Is there any soil for basking on? Also some dwarf shrubs in pots sunk in the ground will be great for when and if we get any sunshine:0)

Didnt mean to hiijack your thread op, sorry, hope you dont mind me answering ? You cant really see because of the angle of the pic, the basket thingy at the back is on top of a large piece of slate, and then all the way around the 3 front sides is built on railway sleepers, so lots of basking space. In the grass area in the middle we have built a bridge with a kind of lip on it and covered it in soil and turf, so shadey bit underneath the bridge too, then the area at the front is all planted up with shelled warriors weeds (grown from seed) so all ready to munch. I did plant a few small plants last year (pansies and some aloe too... but it all got wiped out during the winter). Will take some better pics once its all tarted up ready for HRH's return to the great outdoors Id love to see what you all build with yours, good find OP, a great bargain x

Great enclosure,my husband as started an enclosure for this summer it's going to be a foldaway so i can store it away at winter time, brilliant idea using decking, the prices in petshops are so silly,it's great when you can do your own.

As long as its not all grass its fine I just couldnt see inside. All grass is not good for tortoises, hence me asking.
